Commonly known as cotton type man-made staple fiber. The main varieties are cotton type viscose staple fibers, which are spun from natural high molecular compounds such as cellulose or protein through chemical processing.
Cotton and man-made cotton are cellulose, and starch is the same composition, the difference is that the molecular weight is larger. Rayon dissolves cellulose in a solvent and then ejects it from a very fine nozzle to form filaments, similar to spider drawing. So it's impossible to tell the difference between the two. It mainly depends on the hand feeling. Rayon should be smoother.
